This course is designed to provide the student with vocational skills and knowledge of land and geographic information systems. The need for the course arises from the recent expansion of electronic capture of data both at a field collection level and from remotely sensed imagery. The capture and storage of this electronic data has paved the way for the development of large spatially related data bases. Many graduates of the Surveying and Cartography Associate Diplomas are being encouraged to update their skills so that they can work in this area. Show less
